Last night the Taifun went through, far away with the center over the Sea of Japan. In Kamaishi I only felt some wind and sometimes the rain was pounding hard on the roof (as my room is on the top floor). But today I could see the remains. The sea was a bit rough, so kayaking was canceled. Instead we were heading for a hike to the eastern most part of Honshu.
On the way there, the street turned green on some of the wind exposed stretches
After some cool days with only low 20s as high we were almost back to normal with humid 27, when we started the hike from sea level. Going up a bit and then more or less on the same level for about an hour. We started at the red marker and ended up at the star.
The lighthouse
and the stone, that marks the point
Close by was a gorgeous bay with completely calm water in all shades of blue, very much tempting to jump in.
Compared to this the rough sea
We had a perfect timing. We were just back at the car, when it started raining. Lucky us. Tomorrow some sea kayaking is planned.
